Arc Top Flat Board for the Icon. We offer linden wood board that are hand-made in our workshop.
We make all our boards according to the old traditional methods. The board is covered with linen and then 12 layers of chalk with rabbit skin glue are applied, and finally sanded smooth. Struts inserted in the back board made of hard wood: beech, oak. Thin coats of gesso follow, one after another, and when done 12 coats of gesso create an extremely durable surface.
Linden wood board + struts + linen cloth + levkas (gesso) + sand
Smoothed and sanded canvas is ready to gilding and using egg tempera painting.
We make a boards in about 14 days.
